Traditional Chinese Medicine and Bodywork in Chicago, IL
Bennett Uy
Licensed Acupuncturist + Massage Therapist
I began my training in 2012 at Pacific College of Health & Science in Chicago and finished my studies in New York City. I completed a two-year massage program and a four-year Chinese medicine program, graduating in 2018 with a Master’s Degree in Traditional East Asian Health Sciences.
I use massage, acupuncture, and herbal medicine in clinical practice to treat the body. I specialize in addressing pain — whether from athletic performance, acute or chronic injury, or post‑surgical recovery. I also have extensive experience treating female health concerns such as PCOS, irregular or painful menstruation, and fertility challenges. Other common issues I treat with Chinese medicine include insomnia, digestive complaints, stress-related conditions, and more.
I’m a strong proponent of combining therapies to achieve the best outcomes. Complementary and alternative medicine alongside Western medical care can create a balanced, well‑rounded treatment plan. I take a pragmatic approach: Chinese medicine doesn’t claim to hold all the answers, but it can harmonize with other approaches to support healing.
Chinese Medicine & Manual Therapy
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) uses many different tools and techniques to treat the body including acupuncture, massage, herbal medicine, cupping, and moxibustion.
Acupuncture utilizes sterile, hair-thin needles to painlessly stimulate key points in the body. These acupuncture points have been mapped by practitioners of Chinese medicine over millennia. Acupuncture has an effect on connective tissue that runs throughout the body.
My massage style is entirely my own, blending training in Tui Na, shiatsu, craniosacral work, and Swedish massage. When appropriate I use deep, intentional pressure to get lasting results.
